 Markus
Insurance Agency, Inc. provides all types of insurance coverage
for individuals and families including homeowners,
automobile, individual life, health and disability. Markus
Insurance also writes
all lines of insurance for businesses including general liability,
property, workers compensation, group life, health and disability. |
 Bob Markus founded
Markus Insurance Agency, Inc. in September of 1969. The agency
was formed by merging the agencies of Fred Abrams and E.N. Parkes,
Jr. The original offices were located on the southeast corner of the
Lawrenceburg Public Square where Mr. Abrams’ Agency was located. |
In 1970, the
Shackelford Agency was purchased and the growing Markus Agency moved
to the Shackelford Agency location
on
Highway 43 across from the James Lawrence Motel. About a year later, Markus Insurance
Agency moved into offices
 located on the southwest corner of the
intersection of
West Gaines Street and Mahr Avenue.
Markus
Insurance continued to grow and in 1974, Bob Markus had an office
building designed and constructed that meet the needs of the agency at 219 Bicentennial Blvd. behind the Lawrence County
Courthouse. Markus Insurance Agency operated at the 219
Bicentennial Blvd.
location until November of 1999 when their current office building
was constructed at 117 West Gaines Street.

Gale-Smith Insurance Office in Lawrenceburg, TN and not the entire
Gale-Smith Insurance Agency.

 Mindy
Markus, Bob Markus' daughter and a member of the agency,
finds it ironic
that she has a view from her office window of the Markus Insurance
Agency location of the early 1970s. Mindy explained that their
current offices are within a few blocks of several of the office
buildings Markus Insurance Agency occupied and that one of the
office buildings is on the adjacent corner. The current office
building has all the modern technology that is required to conduct
business in the 21st Century. Agents can use a combination of tools
to select the best policy for clients. Many tools used by the agents
are quoting systems at the Insurance Companies accessible over the
Internet. These quotes can be researched quickly thanks to the high
